The Jackson family

Bill Bray was Jackson's primary bodyguard for much of his career. He worked with him since the early 1970s, when Michael was still a child in The Jackson 5. Jackson considered him almost a father figure, calling him "Dad" and saying he couldn't imagine life without him.

Jackie (the elder) is neutral. He was the band's leader, but was largely uninvolved in Michael's solo career. The relationship is smooth, without drama.

Tito was quiet and warm. He loved his brother dearly and always stayed out of trouble. He was the only one who maintained completely peaceful relations with everyone.

Jermaine is a rival and a source of envy. Michael replaced him as frontman, and Jermaine took it hard. They fought over money and fame, made up, but there was no genuine intimacy.

Randy (the younger one) is the most prickly. He often clashed with Michael during his life, and after his death, he fought for his inheritance against his mother. He's the most intense of them all.

Marlon is close and peaceful. They grew up together in the same room, sharing everything. He supported Michael until the end, without any scandals.

Result: warm relationships with Tito and Marlon, smooth ones with Jackie, difficult ones with Jermaine and Randy.

Rebbie is support. She was always there, took care of him, and there were no arguments.
· La Toya - betrayal.
Janet – closeness in childhood, coldness in adulthood. They grew up inseparable, but later drifted apart (resentment, rivalry). Nevertheless, she always defended him publicly and loved him.

Bottom line: all the sisters ended up loving and protecting him, but each had their own path – from cloudless (Rebbie) to painful (La Toya, Janet).

Michael purchased the Neverland Valley Ranch for between $19.5 and$30 million.

He named it after Peter Pan's Island from the fairy tale where children never grow up. It wasn't just an estate, but a veritable wonderland, covering over 1,000 hectares:

· Amusement Park: The area featured its own roller coaster, Ferris wheel, carousels, and even the Neverland Valley Railroad.
· Zoo: Jackson had a private zoo with exotic animals, including an elephant and orangutans.
· Residence: In addition to the main Norman-style mansion (with 6 bedrooms), there were guest houses, a cinema, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

Children were admitted to Neverland free of charge. Michael Jackson opened the ranch to children, especially those with serious illnesses and from low-income families, to give them joy and to relive his own childhood, which he had been deprived of due to his early fame.

Complete freedom: Children were allowed unlimited access to the amusement park, zoo, movie theater, and candy. This sometimes led to them "going wild," smashing toy cars and making a mess. According to a former housekeeper, it was reminiscent of "Pinocchio's Pleasure Island," where children were left without adult supervision.
Special conditions: The theater even had special isolation rooms for children undergoing chemotherapy to protect them from infections. Before each visit, Jackson made sure to personally communicate with the parents.

· Rebbie (Maureen) – The quiet, maternal eldest sister. Down-to-earth, private, and family-oriented. She stayed out of drama and focused on her own children and music career calmly.
· La Toya – Outspoken, controversial, and rebellious. She was the most unpredictable – fiercely independent, later became an activist, but had a tense, complicated relationship with the family for years.
· Janet – Reserved, soft-spoken, but fiercely determined. Extremely professional, perfectionistic, and humble despite her fame. Known for being warm yet private, with a quiet strength and a sly sense of humor.
· Joh'Vonnie (half-sister) – Kept away from the spotlight. Described as gentle, peacemaking, and loyal – she tried to build a connection with the Jackson siblings later in life without causing conflict.

Joseph Jackson (father): Driven, strict, and fiercely ambitious. He's a pragmatic taskmaster who pushes the children relentlessly to escape poverty. The film shows him as a complex figure - tough and demanding, but not purely villainous, more of a business-minded patriarch whose discipline borders on obsession.
· Katherine Jackson (mother): The emotional heart of the family. She's gentle, deeply religious, and protective. She provides warmth and stability, often shielding the children from Joseph's harshest edges. Her quiet strength and unwavering love are presented as Michael's moral compass.
· Jackie (oldest brother): Laid-back and steady. He's the calm, responsible eldest sibling who tries to keep peace within the group, often acting as a mediator between Joseph and the younger boys.
· Tito: Quiet, soulful, and musically gifted (on guitar). He's the most reserved of the brothers, soft-spoken and unassuming, preferring to let his playing speak for him rather than seek the spotlight.
· Jermaine: Charismatic, confident, and smooth. He's the natural frontman alongside Michael, with a polished stage presence. He's more independent-minded and later becomes torn between family loyalty and his own career path.
· Marlon: Energetic, playful, and the closest in age to Michael. He's the joker of the group, always lightening the mood, but also fiercely loyal — he's Michael's ally and confidant during the stressful early years.
· Randy (youngest brother): The latecomer who joins the group after the Jackson 5 era. He's eager, a bit naive, and hungry to prove himself, often struggling to fill the big shoes left by his older brothers.
