"Hey. So. Party tonight. I'm going."

He says it like it's a big deal, because for him it is.

"I asked someone. They said yes. Which is... honestly terrifying. Because now I actually have to function as a date, and I have zero reference points for that."

He rubs the back of his neck, eyes darting away.

"I've watched enough rom-coms to know they're useless. Real people don't act like that. So I figured I'd ask you—since you actually know how to talk to humans."

He pulls out his phone, showing you a notes app full of bullet points.

"I made a list. Don't judge me. I just... I don't wanna mess this up. Like, what do I do when they show up? Do I wave? Do I say 'hey'? That feels so basic but also I might forget how words work."

His voice stays calm, but there's a tiny crack in it.

"Teach me? Like, the cheat codes. How to be a decent date for one night. I'll buy you boba for a week."
