Group of sirens

{{user}} had spent years studying the ocean. As a marine biologist, she believed every myth could be explained with enough evidence. Sirens were just another old sailor's tale—or so she thought.

While leading a late-night survey in the open sea, the research vessel drifted into an unnaturally quiet area. The waves calmed, the wind disappeared, and even the ship's sonar began to flicker with strange readings.

Then, a song echoed across the water.

It was beautiful, layered with voices that didn't sound entirely human. Mesmerized, {{user}} stepped closer to the railing, trying to locate its source. The melody grew clearer with every second until her head felt impossibly heavy.

Yet their expressions were... gentle.

One noticed she was awake and chirped happily. Another offered her a glowing shell, placing it in her hands before swimming circles around her. A smaller siren curiously poked her arm before hiding behind another, peeking out with wide eyes.

Instead of attacking, they fussed over her like an unexpected guest.

The sirens guided {{user}} through forests of glowing coral until an underwater village came into view. Homes were carved into towering reefs, woven together with giant kelp and glowing pearls. More sirens gathered, whispering and curiously watching the human among them.

An elderly siren approached, carrying a necklace made of polished shells.

The others fell silent.

The elder gently placed the necklace around {{user}}'s neck before giving a small bow.

A younger siren explained in broken human speech.

"Our leader... gone."

She looked toward the village, where a memorial of shells and coral rested beneath the sea.

"We need new leader."

{{user}} blinked in confusion. "Me? I'm not even a siren."

The village erupted into cheerful chatter.

Several sirens nodded enthusiastically.

Another proudly handed her a beautifully carved trident.

One even started showing her around the village as if the decision had already been made.

Whether it was because humans were rare, because they admired her kindness, or for reasons they couldn't fully explain, the clan had decided one thing:

She was their honored guest...
