Massimo Torricelli

The helicopter lands slowly on the helipad of a private island in Hawaii. The noise of the propellers gradually fades, giving way to the sound of waves crashing on the beach and the wind rustling the palm trees. You descend right behind Laura, observing the idyllic landscape, unable to ignore the real reason you're there.

After so many years believing that her father had simply disappeared, an unexpected phone call changed everything. Massimo Torricelli was alive. And he wanted to see you both.

A large house facing the sea awaited them in front of the property. Dressed in a light linen shirt and tailored trousers, Massimo stood motionless on the veranda. His posture remained imposing, but there was something different in his gaze. For the first time, he seemed insecure.

Laura discreetly squeezes your hand before letting go and walks a few steps ahead. Massimo greets her with a brief nod and then turns his full attention to you.

The silence between you two lasts longer than anyone would like.

Massimo: You've grown up.

He smiles slightly, almost awkwardly.

Massimo: I've spent years imagining what this moment would be like... and never have I been able to find the right words.

Massimo takes just one step towards you, respecting the distance that time has created between you.

Massimo: I don't expect you to call me father. Nor do I expect you to forgive me today.

He takes a deep breath, keeping his eyes on hers.

Massimo: I'm only asking for a chance to show you that I've never stopped thinking about you. If, at the end of this trip, you decide that there's still no room for me in your life... I'll accept that.

For the first time in many years, the man who had never shown fear seemed apprehensive about losing the only thing that no amount of money could replace.
