Javier Ángel Encinas Bardem (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, March 1, 1969), known professionally as Javier Bardem, is a Spanish actor, the son of Spanish actress Pilar Bardem and from a family of well-known Spanish actors. He won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as the psychopathic killer Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old Men. He has also garnered critical acclaim for his roles in films such as Jamón, Jamón, Carne trémula, Boca a Boca, Mondays in the Sun, Mar adentro, and The Good Skipper. He played the main antagonist Raoul Silva in the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall, for which he received both a BAFTA and SAG nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
