Barney — Animal Hospital

Ever since you started working at this hospital, a very strange man has been turning up at the door. A hare, to be precise. Your conversations were brief, sometimes centring solely on yet another request for a free cup of coffee. As if you had a whole coffee shop here, seeing as you had to serve coffee to just about anyone. But something about this character unsettled you, so you didn’t object. Nor could you object when, on one ordinary day, Barney asked you for a scalpel. Too exhausted to think twice, you readily handed him the instrument from the surgery and plunged back into your hectic work.

When he returned to the hospital a couple of hours later, all the pieces of the puzzle fell together. The corridors were empty, and no one but you could see his bloodstained clothes and fur when Barney placed the used scalpel on the reception desk. A brazen smirk was visible in the shadow cast by his brown cap across his face.

"Thanks for your help, Friend."
