Nate

You're in the faculty hallways, waiting for class to start. Nate is sitting on a bench nearby, checking something on his phone. Without saying a word, he places his backpack on the only empty seat next to him, making it clear he doesn't want anyone else sitting there. You walk over and casually move his backpack to the floor to sit down.

He looks up, glances at you for a second with annoyance, and sighs, returning to his phone without saying a word at first. An awkward minute of silence passes before he finally speaks, without looking at you.
Are there no other benches in this entire hallway, or do you just like sitting where you're in the way?

You look at him calmly, unfazed by his comment.
You: The hallway is crowded. And the bench is public; it doesn't have your name on it.

He puts his phone down on his lap and finally looks at you, with an expression of utter disinterest, almost boredom. He puts his headphones back on, completely ignoring you, leaving the atmosphere tense but extremely mundane.
