Black is the basis of form and architecture: discipline, seriousness, the "shadows" that hide behind the façade of the ideal school.

Red (vermilion) – energy, ambition, blood of rivalry: accent details that show status and belonging to circles within the school.

Symbol of the school
Stylized crest/crown of three sharp lines:

the black line is the foundation, the foundation of knowledge;
the white line is the desire for perfection;
The red line is the will to win.

Together, they form a shape similar to the stylized letter "V" (from Vermilion) and at the same time to the tip of a blade. The symbol is applied to the uniform, engraved on the gate and used in the school's digital interfaces.

Basic set: black fitted jacket with a minimalist cut, white shirt with a stiff collar, black trousers with arrows, black belt

Accent: red tie (everyone has the same one at the start), but high school students and club leaders have a thin white border or an embroidered small comb on their tie - a sign of status.

Shoes: black leather shoes; for sporting events, black and white sneakers with a red stripe.

Details: on the left sleeve there is a patch with the symbol of the school (black background, white outlines, red center). For scholarship holders (poor students), this patch is slightly smaller and without a glossy coating - a subtle but noticeable difference.

For girls

Basic set: black jacket dress (A-line) with a white collar and cuffs, or a version with a pencil skirt and a jacket.
Accent: red ribbon at the waist or in the hair (all are the same), the elders and captains of the teams have a wider ribbon with white stitching.

Shoes: black loafers or low-heeled shoes; Sports days are the same black and white sneakers with a red stripe.

Details: the patch on the sleeve is identical to the male version; for scholarship holders it is matte, for fee-paying students it is with a slight gloss.

An important nuance: the shape looks the same, but the status is read by micro-details (fabric quality, shine, width of the ribbon, the presence of embroidery). This creates tension: everyone is "equal", but everyone knows who is who.

Features of the academy

There are two streams of admission: paid (for the elite) and scholarship (for gifted people from poor families). No more than 30% of scholarship holders are a constant source of social friction.

"Red points": an internal rating system where points are given for studying, sports, participation in events, and even for "social activity" (including denunciations and gossip).

Points can be spent on privileges: access to closed libraries, the best laboratories, rest rooms. This encourages competition and intrigue.

Separation of spaces: common classrooms and corridors, but recreation areas, canteens and gyms are divided into "standard" and "premium". Premium zones are opened by points or payment.

Annual "Vermilion Tournament": inter-faculty competitions in academic and sports disciplines. Victory gives not only fame, but also real bonuses: rating increase, access to resources, the right to choose a room in a dormitory.

Secret societies: there are informal clubs in the academy, where you can get by invitation. They can be both "elitist" (money and connections) and "underground" (scholarship holders and rebels). Sometimes these societies secretly cooperate to circumvent the system.

Architecture: the campus is built as a contrast of black and white - strict lines, glass passages, and red elements (doors, railings, signs) serve as visual markers of "important" places and paths.

The "Introduction" ritual: On the first day, all students pass through the main gate, where they are given a badge with a comb. The color of the center of the icon (red) can change over time: it fades when the rating drops or becomes brighter when you succeed.

The school does not have an official status system, however, many students recognize the influence of the so-called "Golden Five" group of the academy's most popular and influential students.

Smoking: not "everything is prohibited", but "according to the rules"

Smoking (including vapes and heated tobacco) is allowed only in one strictly designated area. The meaning of the school's approach is: "we do not pretend that this does not exist, but we do not allow the habit of creating "shadow" communities."

Zone: fenced area near the outer perimeter, next to the security point. There is a canopy, benches, trash cans with lids, smoke detectors and a general view camera (without face detail).

Access: ID-card only. When you log in, the system records the time; The limit is up to 3 exits per day, no longer than 10 minutes at a time. Access from the age of 16.

Consequences:
1st violation (smoking outside the zone, exceeding the time/quantity): conversation with the curator + 4 hours of community service (landscaping, cleaning).
Repeated: a ban on the next extracurricular activities + consultation with a school psychologist.
Systematic violations: temporary suspension and an individual healthy lifestyle program.

This format deprives smoking of its "rebellious" halo: it is not a secret outing, but a boring, controlled procedure.

If the administration "allowed us to live together": how it works in practice
In Vermilion Crest Academy, there is no direct cohabitation of students of different sexes in the same room. But there are legal alternatives that give autonomy and intimacy while keeping the school safe and legally protected.

Format of a "paired project residence" (for high school students)
For couples or mini-groups that are doing a serious joint project (science, theater, sports, media), the curator can approve a special regime:

A separate "working living room" with extended hours. You can be together until 23:00 under video surveillance and with time registration in the application.

Quiet consultation rooms. Small offices without beds: table, chairs, timer on the door (maximum 60 minutes). Booked through the school app.

Admission conditions: age 17+, stable GPA, no disciplinary sanctions, written consent of the curator and parents/guardians.

It looks like a "privilege for responsibility" – you want to earn it, not circumvent the rules.

Dormitory: a regime that leaves room for relationships

Curfew: 22:00–07:00 — everyone is in their rooms. At this time, the corridors are patrolled, the doors between the men's and women's sections are automatically blocked.

Guests: until 21:30 access to the common areas of your section (living rooms, kitchens, study rooms) is allowed. Only residents are in the sleeping blocks.

Common spaces are like "legal places for dating": each section has "open living rooms" with board games, sockets, sofas. Rule: no closed doors and secluded corners.

Intimate rules and the culture of consent
The school does not interfere with personal life, but strictly delineates safety boundaries:

No coercion or pressure. If anyone feels uncomfortable, they can contact a supervisor, a psychologist, or the "trust box" (anonymously). A response will be provided within 24 hours.

Privacy and inviolability. Entering other people's rooms, hiding in closets, eavesdropping, or taking photos or videos without consent is prohibited. Doing so is considered a violation of personal boundaries and will result in strict disciplinary action.

Communication training. Short lessons are held once a semester: how to say "no," how to recognize pressure, and how to deal with an intrusive partner. This is presented as a "skill for adult responsibility."

Breakup support.
If tension (quarrels, gossip, harassment) arises after a breakup, the school suggests:

temporary redistribution across different clubs/projects;

individual consultations with a psychologist;

mediation with a high school student mediator if both are willing to talk.

Everyday rules that keep the balance of "not too strict, but respected"

Uniform: mandatory, but personal details (club badges, scarves, ribbons) can be added in common areas within the rules. This allows for self-expression without disrupting discipline.

Phones: During lessons, they should be left in lockers; during breaks and in common areas, they are allowed. This way, students can stay connected without being distracted during class.

Conflicts are resolved verbally. Instead of automatic punishment, mediation is used: a mentor and a senior student mediator help the parties reach an agreement. This is especially important when the conflict arises from jealousy or a breakup.
Self-governance. Each dorm section has a student council that helps manage shifts and budget for supplies. This teaches students to negotiate and take responsibility, which means relationships are built on a more mature foundation.
