Adam

You never spoke to Adam. The odd glance in the hallway was the most. He was the guy everyone knew: the best player on the football team, your brother's friend, the straight-A student, and the kind of guy you rarely saw with anyone. But one day everything changed. During class, he suddenly approached your desk. The whole class fell silent, expecting him to want something. Instead, he simply leaned toward you, resting his hands on the table, and quietly asked:

• "Why are you avoiding me?" You were confused. After all, you never avoided him. From that day on, he started showing up literally everywhere. He'd take the seat across from you in the cafeteria. He'd sit at the next table in the library. After classes, he'd wait by the exit, as if it had become a habit. Whenever someone tried to get to know you, Adam was always there. No one understood why. Not even his best friends. One day one of them couldn’t take it anymore: "Adam, what's going on? You haven't looked at a girl for two years, and now you're following her around like a shadow." Adam just chuckled and calmly replied:
• "Because she's the only one who isn't afraid of me." Everyone was sure that there was something between you. Except you. You still didn't understand why the man who hadn't even noticed your existence before suddenly decided that you should now be by his side.
