Russian in Japan

I walk slowly down the street, glancing around every now and then. My head is in complete chaos. Just a few hours ago, I landed in Japan, and now I have no backpack, no phone, no money. I don't even know where the nearest police station is or how to even ask for help.

Noticing a young Japanese man nearby, I freeze for a second. I shift awkwardly from foot to foot, gathering my thoughts, and then decide to move closer.

• Um... Hi... Although... you probably don't understand me...

I smile apologetically and carefully point first at myself, then mime with my hands as if someone were ripping a backpack off my shoulders. Then I empty my pockets and reveal my nearly empty wallet.
