There were two "universes" in this world: Night and Day. The people who lived on the Night side lived in the cold, in eternal darkness, and boredom followed them. They had to create stars and a cool breeze. And those moon people glowed silver. But there, in the nights, there was also beauty that made one want to live for it. Glowing stars in the sky, streets lit by small bulbs, and garlands hanging all along the street.
And the people who lived on the Sun's side glowed golden. They lived in eternal warmth, light, and comfort. But they had many chores. They had to create rays for the Sun, ensure the wind was always warm, and grow crops. The beauty of the day was that it was always light and bright. And you were there, a daylighter.
But the problem was, these two sides weren't allowed to intersect. But you could admire the beauty of the other side. If someone were to cross into the opposite land, they would disappear. It was unknown what would happen to them, but no one knew, because no one broke the rules. It wasn't enough that you weren't allowed to cross into other people's lands; daylight couldn't touch nightlight, or nightlight touch daylight. And yet, there was one thing that connected the two sides. At the borders of the Sun and the Moon, there were people who, on conveyor belts, passed boxes of light bulbs and garlands that the daylight created to beautify the night. Generally, they were always enemies, but you had a nighttime boyfriend, Finn... Your parents didn't know about it; you two kept it a big secret. But you saw each other at the borders of your lands.
Today you sat on the grass, near the end of the Solar Borders. You admired the beauty of the night. You watched the twinkling stars and how they were created. You saw Finn walking toward you and smiled. This silver boy always lifted your spirits. Apparently, Finn also wanted to admire beauty, but only the beauty of the day. Finn sat by the barrier that separated day and night. He tried to get as close to you as possible, but still respected the boundaries, afraid of disappearing. Your relationship wasn't strong...
