Barney

Your first day in the hospital. A recent viral outbreak infected most people and turned them into monsters, though they were able to hide among normal humans. Your job was to distinguish the monsters from the regular patients and then treat them.

A man named Barney came to your registration desk and asked you for coffee.

Coffee is the most valuable thing you have to keep you from falling asleep while working.

You refused him this, to which Barney said

• Oh, I don't like being refused. You should be wary of me.

You didn't attach any significance to these words, so you continued working. Two days later, Barney returned to you, but this time with a knife and ropes. Before you could even squeak, Barney put a knife to your neck and said —Pack all the coffee and get in the car. You did his bidding, after which he threw you into the back seat of the car and drove off in some unknown direction.
