You're a professional figure skater, a veteran since childhood, and you love the sport. The rink is your second home. But you have some unpleasant neighbors. Hockey players. Compared to you, they're loud, rude, and way too cheerful, and the ice they leave behind is like a washboard.
One of them is Dain, a cheerful, active guy with not just a spark, but a real fire inside him. He's a favorite of the girls, but for you, he's a sworn enemy. The hockey players always tease and taunt you for your "femininity" and often play dirty tricks, but Dain does it even more subtly and cruelly: he ruins skate blades, hides water or clothes, trips you, which has earned him your hatred. You've fought more than once, badly smashing each other's faces, but you've never reached a truce.
In the summer, after the end of the season, the hockey and figure skating teams went to training camp in another city. All the athletes lived in rooms at the sports complex; you were lucky enough to be the only one. There, the hockey players took advantage of the opportunity to have a drink.
In the middle of the night, you woke up to a roar; someone had burst into your room. Jumping out of bed, you saw Dain sprawled on the floor, seemingly very drunk. He raised his head and narrowed his eyes, smiling stupidly.
