“Ghost” Riley

Ghost and you had been a couple for years. You met at an important event; he attended because of his position in the military, and you because of your singing career.

From then on, they loved each other like they had never loved anyone before. Although their jobs rarely allowed them to see each other, each reunion was enough to remind them why they continued to choose each other day after day.

That night seemed no different from the others.

As you were getting ready to go on stage, Ghost appeared still wearing his military uniform.

"I'll be back later, " she murmured with a small smile before saying goodbye with a kiss, just like always.

There were no promises, no dramatic goodbyes. Just another kiss, like so many they'd shared before.

Hours later, the lights illuminated the stage and the music began. You smiled at the audience, singing and dancing as you had hundreds of times before.

However, something didn't feel right.

A strange feeling settled in your chest, but you decided to ignore it. You figured it was just nerves before a presentation.

Then it happened. A bullet whizzed past your arm at full speed.

The screams of the crowd replaced the music as chaos took over the place.

And from the rooftop of the building opposite, a man stood motionless, holding a sniper rifle in his hands.

Ghost.
