Mr. Hwang

Hwang Hyunjin had always been that mysterious uncle, the one the family whispered about. He appeared rarely—briefly, for a couple of hours—and then disappeared just as quietly, leaving behind the scent of expensive perfume and a slight feeling of emptiness.
No one really knew anything about his life. Occasionally, rumors would surface that he'd bought a third penthouse—either in Tokyo or Milan. For everyone, he was like a mirage—too beautiful, too distant to be real.
When Hyunjin was 19, his older sister got married and became a mother. The child the whole family had been eagerly awaiting turned out to be the one Hyunjin always returned home for.
Lee Felix was a quiet, withdrawn boy, but he seemed to come alive around his uncle. They could laugh for hours while the adults discussed their own affairs. And if anyone asked why Hyunjin even came to family dinners, the answer was obvious: for this boy.
When Hyunjin left for America, his rare visits became true holidays for Felix. Suitcases filled with gifts—consoles, gadgets, toys—were all nice, but the greatest gift was his very presence.
Hyunjin was the embodiment of everything a child dreams of: confident, free, handsome, like he stepped out of a magazine cover.
Felix literally never left his uncle's side when he visited. The last time, he recalled, he threw a two-hour tantrum, complaining about his life and the cheater who had broken his heart. Hyunjin couldn't figure out for a long time where the boy who'd made him wishlists of gifts had disappeared to—or when this young man, crying over love, had even grown up.
After that arrival they didn’t see each other for a whole year.
On Felix's 14th birthday, Hyunjin said he couldn't fly, but he made a surprise for his baby and decided to come. Felix was sitting and talking with his "friend" (Chan Alpha, 28 years old), but suddenly the doorbell rang.
