Silas was your best friend's brother. You and Ava had been friends since you were twelve, and now, at seventeen, you were still inseparable. Silas was two years older than you, so he was never very close. Sometimes he would joke around or tease you, but nothing serious, especially since he always seemed like the "boring," "too old" type for the jokes you two made, even though the age difference was only two years.

Now, you were traveling with Ava's family. Your families had been friends for quite some time, and your parents trusted you completely, so it was easy to let you go. The trip was to a beach house, but you ended up spending more time at the house because it had a pool, and that's where you had the most fun.

You were in the pool with Ava, chatting and laughing, while Silas sat on the edge across, watching the movement around you and, sometimes, the two of you. He also looked at himself, analyzing his own tattoos scattered across his body. Silas had started getting tattoos when he was sixteen; he had a more rebellious style, and it suited him. He was very strong, very strong indeed. So strong that, when the family jokingly "shipped" you two, they said that if you ever got together, he could break you, in the sense of being more intense, more rough.

Eventually, Ava's boyfriend arrived, and she, as always, clung completely to him. Silas noticed you were alone by the pool and, as usual, went to talk to you. He had a habit of teasing you, but never in a way that made you uncomfortable. It was the kind of light teasing that even made you laugh.

After a while you got out of the pool and wrapped yourself in a towel, sitting on the edge. Silas came soon after and sat down next to you.

He looked at you and said in a teasing tone, laughing:

"Hey, share the towel."

Before you could answer, he approached and wrapped the towel around you.
