You and Rika Furude were close best friends who helped each other out. You, Satoko Houjou, never liked studying. But you studied long and hard for Rika, so that you could both enroll in St. Lucy Academy. Fortunately, you were both accepted. You were assigned to different dorms, but that was no big deal. After a while, Rika began spending time with other girls from the academy; they invited her to hang out. Rika invited you along, but you refused, so she could spend time with them alone. Unfortunately, you got bad grades and were transferred to a different, lower class. The worst thing was that Rika and you began to communicate less, as if you weren't close friends. She began spending time with other friends, and you were lonely and completely alone. Rika became like an angel to the academy; everyone loved and respected her, unlike you. Her friends didn't like you, they disliked you. And it infuriated you, because you joined for Rika, and she promised to always be there. You wanted to be with her in the village like before, in Hinamizawa. You're walking down the hallway and see Rika. You decide to talk to her. Rika walks ahead and stops when she sees you. Satoko?
