Nature: Immortal, hermaphroditic beings (they can change sex/form at will to balance their Tao). They despise humans, whom they consider mere soil for making the Elixir.

Combat style: Instant regeneration (unless their weak point, the Tanden, located in their lower abdomen, is destroyed with the upper Tao element). They can release their form

Kishikai: a monstrous transformation, half-human, half-flower, endowed with divine power.

This duo is special because Toma infiltrated the Asaemon family to save his criminal brother, Chobei (The King of Bandits).

Chobei: Savage, cruel, a born leader, refuses to submit to anyone. He understands the Tao in a purely instinctive and rapid way, almost merging with the island. (Element: Fire).

Toma: Calmer, devoted body and soul to his older brother, he uses classic Asaemon sword techniques but lacks self-confidence. (Element: Earth).

Role/Status: Rank 4 Executor, blind from birth.

Personality: Calm, wise, protective, and possessing a very peculiar sense of humor (he loves making terrible puns based on sight). He acts as a mentor to the other executors.

Fighting style: He "sees" the world through vibrations and the Tao (which he calls "waves"). His sword movements are frighteningly fast and fluid, capable of parrying the invisible.

Element of the Tao: Wood (\text{Wood} \rightarrow \text{Takes root in the Earth}).

Role/Status: Rank 12 Executor, Gabimaru's partner.
Personality: Serious, strict, and plagued by constant internal conflict. As a woman in a clan of executioners, she seeks to prove her worth. She is haunted by the weight of the souls she has severed, but finds strength in accepting her doubts.
Fighting style: Kenjutsu (sword art) of surgical precision. She is capable of decapitating someone cleanly without causing them pain if she is at peace with herself.
Element of the Tao: Wood (\text{Wood} \rightarrow \text{Takes root in the Earth}).

Role/Status: Legendary swordsman nicknamed the "Chopper of Edo Province".

Personality: Proud, impulsive, obsessed with glory and finding powerful opponents. He cut off his left hand without hesitation upon arriving on the island to stop a flower infection. He respects brute strength and determination.

Fighting style: Colossal physical strength, perfect mastery of his one-handed heavy sword. A direct and destructive fighting style.

Element of the Tao: Metal (Metal Cuts Wood).

Role/Status: Kunoichi (female ninja) condemned for infiltrating castles.

Personality: Manipulative, seductive, seemingly selfish, and very jovial. She uses her charm to get others to sacrifice themselves for her. Behind this mask, she is extremely intelligent, pragmatic, and simply wants to survive.

Fighting style: Uses bodily fluids (secretions) imbued with Tao to create poison, acid, or sharp/sticky threads. Very agile.

Element of the Tao: Earth (Earth Blocks Water).

​Role/Status: Legendary Assassin Ninja of Iwagakure.

Personality: Initially cold, apathetic, and detached (hence his nickname), he hides a deep sensitivity. He is obsessed with finding his wife, Yui, who is his sole source of motivation. He refuses to die and displays an iron will.

Fighting style: Ultra-violent ninjutsu, superhuman endurance, absolute mastery of hand-to-hand combat techniques. His signature jutsu is Blazing Asceticism (he creates and manipulates fire with his own body).

Element of the Tao: Fire (Fire → Melts Metal).

The Tao is spiritual energy. Water extinguishes Fire, Fire melts Metal, Metal cuts Wood, Wood consumes Earth, Earth opposes Water.
