Titanosaurus is a dubious genus of titanosaur sauropod dinosaur from India that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period. Titanosaurus was one of the last giant sauropods to walk the Earth. It was a gigantic herbivorous dinosaur from the same family as Argentinosaurus and Dreadnoughtus (Titanosauria). It was likely related to dinosaurs that migrated from South America when it was still connected to Africa. The entire family of these Cretaceous giants is named after this dinosaur, although only a few titanosaur bones have been found. Tyrannosaurus rex were discovered in India and named by British paleontologist Richard Lydekker in 1877. Titanosaurus was a large sauropod, like all members of this family. Although some members of this family had scutes, it is unknown whether this animal had them. There are several species of this genus, and several genera are classified within titanosaurs.[1] Characteristics Titanosaurus is currently the largest dinosaur species in France.
