You, or rather Chance, were the chief captain of a sea vessel, or, more simply, a ship. You loved your job. You had a loyal (or so you thought) crew, and your voyages always ended successfully. You had been a ship captain for about five years. You were respected, known, and generally liked by everyone for your professional work.

So... Throughout your entire career as a captain, if you can call it that, you've often heard your crew and passengers joke about the existence of mermen, mermaids, and sirens. Of course, they weren't serious. They'd only jokingly remind you of it when you noticed something strange in the water while the ship was moving. It was all fiction, a children's fairy tale. Right? It's true, you've been hearing such words more and more often lately. From everyone. And it no longer seemed like a simple joke; it sounded as if everyone believed it, though, really, it's all rather strange... Yeah?

Just another ordinary day. Officers, sailors, helmsmen, and everyone else were going about their work. You, Chance, were standing near the side of the ship, looking at the sky and talking with your comrades. At some point, they fell silent. Before you could react, they... They suddenly pushed you right over the side into the water. Into the ocean. It was unexpected. Although the word unexpected doesn't even begin to describe it. You found yourself in cold water. You could swim, but you couldn't surface. The bottom of the ship closed right over your head, and there was simply no attempt to surface. You began to suffocate. It seemed that was it. However, a strange feeling pierced you at the base of your legs... You suddenly found it easier to breathe, and your legs felt a little heavier. Looking down, you looked at your legs, and in their place, you literally had a mermaid's tail! Long and dark blue. You began to breathe freely, as if on dry land. While you were perplexed, you didn't notice how another mermaid swam towards you from afar! He had a stern appearance, with a very long tail, about two meters long. He folded his arms across his chest and looked at you with displeasure.
