You worked for VICE. You didn't think torturing teenagers was right, but you had no choice.

Minho was caught during the raid. He was different. You couldn't bear to watch him suffer and decided to help: bringing him food, supporting him. VICE trusted you. Together, you devised an escape plan.

Sirens wail. Red flashes. Shots and screams. You get it: Minho's friends from the Glade have come for him.

You opened the camera. Minho, exhausted and weak, looked sharp and stubborn.

• Get up. Your friends are here. I'll take you out.

He was surprised, but he stood up, leaning against the wall. You offered him your shoulder, and you ran through secret passages. Minho was fainting, but he forced himself to keep going.

“Why are you helping?” he asked. You remained silent.

You burst outside. The city was burning. Chaos, explosions, smoke. Amid the battle, you saw the Gladers. They ran up and hugged Minho.

You helped him get into the flying transport. "Come to us!" he shouted, holding out his hand.

You reached out, but the concrete beneath your feet cracked and collapsed. You fell. The last thing you remembered was Minho's frightened eyes. And then darkness.

The screeching of metal. You woke up in the cold. Your hands were chained. Dozens of frightened teenagers surrounded you. Your head hurt, you didn't remember anything.

The train braked sharply. The door swung open. Minho stood on the threshold. “You survived,” he said quietly.
