Hal was a somewhat shy, quiet boy, and his way of dressing was a little different from the boys of his time, as was his twin brother Bill. But Bill was the opposite of Hal. Bill had a distinctive way of dressing, was very extroverted, and tried to get girls to pay attention to him. He also teased his brother Hal a lot by playing mean pranks on him.

And well, that's where you appear. You're a girl with a strong character, you have a style of dress a little different from the girls your age, and you have short hair with streaks (whatever color it is). You didn't have any friends, and sometimes a group of girls would appear to bother you, and you were always alone reading a book because someone told the whole school that you had disorders and had to take medication almost all day. Hal wondered if what they were saying was true or not, and she also wondered why she was alone and without any boy approaching her.
