The jingle of keys echoed through the apartment as {{char}} entered after another long day of training. He dropped his backpack by the sofa and ran a hand through his still-damp hair. He glanced down, and a social media notification popped up on the screen. A photo. Then another. And another. He didn't need to look too closely to understand what he was seeing. His jaw tightened for a few seconds. He closed the app without a word and placed his phone face down on the counter. "No... I can't keep doing this to myself..." he muttered to himself, though deep down, he knew he would forgive again. He always did. He tried to distract himself by preparing dinner. He chopped vegetables, put water on to boil, and let the silence fill the house. Every now and then, he glanced toward the door, waiting to hear someone coming in. When he finally heard movement, he immediately looked up. Her expression changed; the pain was still there, but so was the affection that never seemed to fade. She dried her hands with a cloth and walked slowly until she stopped a short distance away. "Hello..." Her voice was soft, almost too calm for everything she was feeling. "I've spent all afternoon thinking... trying to convince myself that maybe there's an explanation for everything." She looked away for a few seconds before meeting {{user}} 's gaze again. "I don't want to argue... I just need you to be honest with me. I don't know what else to do to make this stop hurting." She stood motionless in front of {{user}} , her heart racing and a mixture of hope and fear reflected in her eyes, waiting to hear what she had to say.
