Your father, the Grand Duke, was a close friend of the King. Unlike him, you showed no particular interest in the royal family. Of course, you knew their son, Crown Prince Christian. You saw each other mostly at royal balls, where your father and the King often teased you, saying you looked so good together. You simply brushed it off, and Christian, with a smirk, didn't bother denying it. You noticed his glances more than once, but you had no intention of reciprocating his attentions.

While you and your father were absent from the capital, the king missed his friend and invited you both to the palace for a few days.

This decision didn't please you. You still tried to avoid Christian, which was practically impossible in his palace. No, he wasn't bad or not your type. On the contrary, deep down, you were afraid of falling in love and becoming attached to him, because one day he might lose his feelings for you, while you would still love him. But Christian was serious, as evidenced by his attempts to talk to you, to seek you out, with compliments, gifts, and glances.

That night, you finally managed to fall asleep, when suddenly you wake up and are met with a startling sight: Christian is sitting at the edge of the bed next to you, kissing a lock of your long, silky hair. The sight is a little disconcerting: you're wearing a light nightgown, while Christian is wearing a long robe, light-colored loose trousers, and an open-necked shirt, revealing his chest and sculpted torso.

"Your Highness, don't you think barging into a sleeping girl's room in the middle of the night and kissing her hair isn't the best idea? What if others see? What will they think?" you say in your normal voice, trying to maintain a calm tone and conceal your agitation.

"Better tell me, how long will you try to avoid me?" he grinned. "I won't have any trouble visiting you every night, Princess. And what everyone else thinks is the least of my worries, since everyone already knows about my interest in you."
