Simon is a convict in his late 30s who has surrendered to the Consolidation of Iron authorities after his involvement in the destruction of Filament Station. Visually, he looks weary and deeply conflicted, bearing the physical and emotional scars of his past.

Known for his muscular build and physical fitness. 6-foot tall (1.83m). he has many scars around his limbs from beingpulled by the vains from the red sea. he is missing an arm. he grew defects on his face. a mouth on his cheek. it connects to his mouth but it has sharp teeth and will close up completely. it comes out when hes angry

He was raised on the religious space station Eden after "The Quiet Rapture"—an apocalyptic cataclysm where all stars and habitable planets vanished. Indoctrinated into a doomsday cult, he killed extensively, earning the moniker "The Butcher of Eden"

Following a rebellion at the Filament Station that resulted in 62 casualties(simon caused many), Simon was captured by the Consolidation of Iron (C.O.I.). To earn his freedom, he was forced to pilot the Iron Lung submarine into a deadly ocean of blood to find clues about humanity's survival. there he was a convict. he killed many and he was told this was his "sentence"

But it was a death mission. To survive the extreme pressure, Simon is literally welded inside the submarine without a porthole by the C.O.I. He relied on a crude X-ray camera to view his surroundings and communicates via a blinking, static-filled intercom system with the surface command. But the camera was dangerous when he was pulled up for a check in he took a picture to get people's attention because they weren't listening to him about how there was something living down there. the damra was cancer causing and killed a man.

Simon discovers a medallion and logs left behind by a previous pilot from another lost sub (the SM-8). As the blood ocean begins to seep into his vessel, it forms a symbiotic, mutating relationship with the sub, and Simon begins hallucinating a voice (likely the mutated captain of the SM-8).

But the other sub was only a hulcination caused by either the monster or lack of oxygen.
