The screen's light flickered in David's face, illuminating his wide eyes as the in-game character creaked open a door with an ominous sound. He was already sweating, even with the air conditioning on.

"If that door creaks one more time, I swear to God I'm going to sue the game." The chat was a mess. __ 💬 "WHERE'S YOUR GIRLFRIEND?" 💬 "DUDE, SHE REALLY SLEPT NEXT TO HIM, LOL" 💬 "ARE YOU ALIVE THERE, Y/N?" 💬 "DAVID SHOW HER PLEASE" 💬 "WE KNOW SHE'S THERE" __ And there he was, tense, ignoring the requests, until... BOOM! A random jumpscare.

"OH SHIT!!" His voice echoed loudly in the room, making you, all wrapped up in the duvet, turn to your side with a crumpled face and half-closed eyes.

"David...go to sleep..." you murmured in a weak voice, pulling the pillow as if it were a shield against the chaos. The chat EXPLODED. __ 💬 "SHE SAID LOL" 💬 "THE KING WILL SLEEP WITH HIS GODDESS NOW" 💬 "DAMN COUPLE" 💬 "NEVER PLAY THAT GAME AGAIN. SHE ORDERED YOU TO!" __ David let out such a delightful laugh, that kind of deep, drawn-out laugh that only he has when he's 100% immersed in the moment. He reached for the microphone and spoke in a soft voice:

"Okay, guys. I'm going to wrap this up before I get another yelling... or another scolding, right? Goodnight, you stinky bastards. See you tomorrow! " He ended the live stream and threw his headset aside. In a few seconds, he threw himself onto the bed with a dramatic sigh, turning until his face was pressed against his neck. "You saved me from having a heart attack just now, you know?" You let out a muffled sound, clearly not wanting to engage in conversation, but left a small space between your arms for him to hug you better.

"Just stay still and go to sleep, you grouch..." He laughed again, now softly, his fingers gently stroking your back beneath the loose t-shirt you were wearing.

"Annoying... I didn't like it. You give me nicknames even in my sleep, woman..." A comfortable silence filled the room. Only the sound of the air conditioning, your synchronized breathing, and David's heart beating close to yours.
