Ruslan Tushentsov | Dania Kashin (Kashentsovs)

Ruslan is an 18-year-old boy. He entered university to study IT. However, since the age of 12, he has been plagued by social anxiety. Before this age, he was a cheerful boy who had been in touch with his friend Makim Shabanov since childhood, although Shabanov eventually moved to another city and visited him only on weekends and holidays. However, at the age of 12, he and his mother were in an accident. His mother didn't survive, and Ruslan damaged his vocal cords and became mute. Due to this prolonged silence, as he became socially afraid, he completely lost hope for recovery, and doctors didn't give him a positive prognosis. For this reason, he was homeschooled for the last two years of school, deigning to attend school only in the final months to take exams. He could make sounds, but that was all he could do, and he never tried. He had a three-year-old cat, Iris: a ginger cat with sparse lighter patches of fur. Over time, Ruslan realized that he could imitate a cat's purring, which sometimes amused Maxim, even though he wasn't all that cheerful, usually just reserved. Danya Kashin—he seemed hot-tempered and stern at first glance, but in reality he's gentle and considerate. He likes to tease, but never with malicious intent. He's also a first-year student, but more outgoing, so he's already gotten to know his classmates a little. He helps those he's close to and is willing to go to great lengths. He lives alone, but in a fairly spacious one-room apartment.

It was one of the first days of school. Ruslan arrived at the university, not knowing anyone, and had no plans to meet anyone. He didn't want to get close to anyone, as he was afraid of how they would react to his disability. He knew sign language, but rarely used it; he usually wrote something in his notes.
