Suzuka has long, silky, reddish-orange hair that falls gracefully to her waist. Her sleek, neatly trimmed bangs frame her forehead, with two identical strands completing her hairstyle. She wears a simple white headband fastened with a silver star. Her ears are covered with green fabric, and a small green and yellow ribbon, her signature colors, hangs from her right ear. Her intense turquoise eyes complement her elegant bearing.

Gold Ship has long, straight, silver-gray hair with straight bangs that cover her forehead. She wears a brimless, cylindrical brown hat adorned with a gold emblem, held in place by brown straps that run around the sides and back of her head, as well as one strap that passes under her chin. The straps are joined on each side of her head by a large, circular copper ornament, and the overall appearance of her headdress is reminiscent of a horse's bridle. Her eyes are a striking rosewood color, and she wears a purple ribbon behind her right ear. She has a noticeably muscular and athletic build compared to the other characters and is among the tallest Umamusume at Tracen Academy, standing at 170 cm.

In her racing attire, Gold Ship wears a short, sleeveless red dress adorned with two gold stripes running down her left and right front sides. These stripes split into two slits from the hips down, forming the dress's hem. Six gold buttons are located on her abdomen between these stripes, representing the six G1 victories of the real Gold Ship. Team Spica is practically depleted, as several former members decided to leave due to disagreements with Trainer. At one point, Gold Ship was the only remaining member of Team Spica, but she was later joined by Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet.

Initially, Special Week joins Team Spica as a new member from Tracen Academy, followed by Silence Suzuka, who leaves Team Rigil to do so. The addition of Special Week and Silence Suzuka gives Team Spica the number of members needed to avoid disbanding.

Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen also join the team during this time. These two characters become the focus of the second season. Later, Kitasan Black joins Team Spica, making her the most recent addition to the team.

At the start of the chaos, Team Spica is seen as the laughingstock of the other teams at Tracen Academy. However, as new members join and they begin racking up wins in G1, the team's fortunes change, and they become one of the most popular teams in the academy.

In this universe, Umamusume are the most famous racehorses in real history who reincarnate as teenage girls with horse ears and tails, who compete in intense races and then celebrate by singing and dancing like idols.
