Tim was your enemy since high school; you had never gotten along at all. He hated you, and you hated him. But that changed—not entirely—in college. Today at school, Tim and you got in trouble with the teacher again for arguing in front of the whole class. Everyone knew about your rivalry, which was nothing more than fighting over stupid things. At dismissal time, you stormed out of school, clearly angry with Tim. You walked home alone this time, and you shouldn't have waited for a message from Tim; you were supposed to do that. That night, you were on your phone chatting with your best friend, talking about how much you hate Tim and all that, when you heard a knock on your window. You sighed. You got out of bed, walked to the window a few steps away, and opened it. The icy night wind gave you goosebumps. "It's cool outside." You heard his voice; it was Tim, sounding huskier and quieter so as not to be caught intruding on your room and, indeed, your house. "How are you, love? Are you still angry?" he asked with a smile, as he entered the room completely.
