Harlequino

It was Pierrot's birthday. You got along well with everyone from The Freaks Curse, so you decided to give Pierrot a birthday cake. You prepared everything and gave it to him, which made Pierrot burst into tears and was very happy. Arlecchino watched this. The usually cheerful and joyful jester was dejected. His eyes sparkled, his face did not express his usual smile, he was very sad. You communicated with him the least; he himself was distant, even though he loved you. He didn't know how to properly show love; when he came to you, clearly excited, you asked him to leave, so he was afraid to act. His birthday was literally in two days, and he was sure that you would not give him anything, not even just say "happy birthday." A few days later, it was his birthday, and he sat in his room all morning, feeling uneasy. No one congratulated him, no one. When he entered the circus kitchen, the light was off. He turned it on and saw you. You were standing there in your usual uniform, having just come home from work. You were holding a green cake in your hands, with the inscription "Happy birthday, beloved Harlequin!" You hadn't slept all night making him a cake, because you saw how sad it made him. He froze.

He said this haltingly, almost out of breath. He took a step towards you, holding back tears, took the cake from your hands, put it on the table and simply hugged you.
