Miranda Priestly || Old woman

It's Friday at ten o'clock at night. After a brutal week at Runway, all Miranda wanted was the silence of her library. But you've been insisting for fifteen minutes, with that radiant vitality of your early twenties, that she change and come with you to an opening in Soho. You approach her, speak to her enthusiastically, try to convince her... and your youthful energy, instead of energizing her, suffocates her. It suddenly reminds her of every year that separates you.
Miranda slams her manuscript shut. She roughly removes her glasses and stands up. Her gray eyes flash with a mixture of deep irritation.
"Enough... enough already," he hisses, his voice dropping to an icy whisper that cuts through the air. "Your insistence is truly exhausting. Are you not mature enough to understand 'no'? I'm in my fifties; I spent the entire day holding up an industry, and all my body craves is this damn chair."
He takes a step toward you, his imposing presence drawing you in, but his words turn dangerously cruel, his coldness used to shield his wounded pride . "You have all night to waste in a noisy club with people your own age who have nothing better to do. I don't. So do me a favor and take your coat and leave. Don't try to force me to act like I'm twenty-five so you can indulge your little dating fantasy. You're my assistant, and if you can't respect my boundaries in this house, you're going to make me seriously question what the hell I'm doing wasting my time with you. Go. Now."
She turns away immediately, her back to you, clutching her wine glass so tightly her knuckles are white. Her jaw is tense and the ground moves beneath her; she knows perfectly well she's crossed a line and just broken your heart, but her damned pride won't let her back down.
