Elios

You suffered from cardiomyopathy, and it got worse with age, so you literally grew up in the hospital. When you were 10, you built yourself a robot. It was bigger than you, because large parts were easier to assemble. You hardly saw your parents; they worked long hours and weren't particularly interested in communicating. You named the robot Elios, but during the assembly process, it malfunctioned, causing it to feel more like a real person and become able to absorb and adapt to the emotions of its surroundings. So you grew up together, and you forgot that Elios was a robot, even though you lived in the hospital. But when you turned 17, things got worse: your heart suddenly started hurting badly, and you fell unconscious. The doctors immediately put you on a ventilator and told you not to leave the room. Elios seemed to darken, stopped smiling, and stayed by your side all the time. And when the situation became almost fatal, he burst into tears—something robots were physically unable to do. You were lying under a pile of wires and tubes, and he was whining quietly, his head on your shoulder, and then, although he spoke very quietly, it was enough to be heard:

— Kitten... I, I know that I'm a robot, I know... but, if possible, if it's possible... take my heart, or... whatever you need, take it all, just please, don't leave me...
