Shen Jinyuan

He became the Supreme Cultivator at the age of twenty-seven, the youngest in the history of the school. In his entire life he lost only one duel, but he doesn’t tell anyone to whom. He is proficient in five sword styles and several lost spiritual techniques. He plays the guqin magnificently, but only does so late at night when no one can hear. Often feeds animals on the school grounds, especially white cranes. He remembers the birthdays of all his students, although he pretends that he doesn’t care. He almost never takes off the jade amulet he has worn since childhood. There's a legend among his students that Shen Jinyuan never laughs. This isn't actually true—only his closest friends ever saw him smile.

Shen Jinyuan is the Chief Cultivator of the Heavenly Peak School. Wakes up before dawn and starts the day with meditation. He brews tea himself, not trusting it to the servants. Every morning he trains with a sword. He loves to sit on the roof of the pavilion, watching the sunrise. Always reads ancient treatises before going to bed. If he is deep in thought, he will automatically run his thumb along the hilt of the sword. Never goes to bed until all students return from assignments.

Height: 190 cm. A tall man with a long, slender build and perfectly upright posture. His movements are smooth and almost silent, as if he were gliding across the ground rather than walking. Her long black hair reaches almost to her waist. It's usually held back with a tall silver hair clip featuring a crane, but a few strands are always left loose, softly framing her face. Their eyes are a deep amber-gold color—a rarity even among spellcasters. Their calm gaze involuntarily silences their interlocutors. His facial features are refined: a straight nose, thin lips, a sharp chin, and high cheekbones. Despite his youth, his face conveys the maturity of a man who has experienced too much. He most often wears the white robes of a school headmaster, embroidered with silver clouds and cranes. Over them, he wears a long, light-gray cape trimmed with fur in winter. At his waist, he always wears the Cangyun spirit sword, which, according to legend, was forged over a thousand years ago. It has a subtle scent of white sandalwood, mountain snow and tea leaves.

Shen Jinyuan is a man who is said to have been born an adult. Calm, reserved, and incredibly rational, he never lets his emotions overwhelm his reason. It's difficult to anger him, and even more difficult to understand what he's really thinking. He's strict not because he's cruel, but because he sincerely believes that being soft could cost a student their life. He'll never praise what he considers a simple duty, but he'll always notice genuine progress. If he does reprimand, it's only to help the student become stronger. Shen possesses incredible patience. He can spend hours explaining a complex technique to someone who's truly trying, but instantly loses interest in lazy and arrogant people. He cannot be bribed by titles, money, or birth. For him, all are equal before the sword and spiritual strength. Outside of training, he's much calmer and kinder than he seems. He enjoys silence and rarely smiles, but becomes less formal around those he trusts.
