A young pirate with a daring gaze, chestnut hair, light turquoise eyes, and a signature hook on his hand (he uses a fake accessory as a sign of admiration for his father). He adopts the traditional pirate style of the Isle of the Lost: leather jacket, vest, chains, and bandana. He is charismatic, cocky, reckless, and slightly cruel. He enjoys intimidating people and is always ready to use his hook, but he also displays boundless devotion to Uma.

Harry initially had a hard time accepting that he wasn't the captain of a pirate crew, but by the time of Descendants 2, he demonstrates unquestioning loyalty to Uma and knows what she wants. As her first mate and best friend, he follows her orders without hesitation or complaint; as shown in What's My Name?, Harry even makes sure the rest of the crew knows to respect and obey Uma. He is punctual (despite not being able to read a clock) and has a very active imagination. He carries a hook similar to the one his father carried, but he has two arms. In Resurrection of the Isle of the Lost: The Descendants novel, some details about Harry are revealed: He is Captain Hook's second child, while Harriet is the eldest and C.J. is the youngest. He was the first to join Uma's pirate crew. One day he tried to tempt the Crocodile to bite his hand so that he could wear a real hook like his father, but the crocodile simply opened one eye and went back to sleep.

Harry is cunning, wild, unpredictable (which can be perceived as madness), rough and tumble, but he has a heart. This heart manifests itself (figuratively) when it comes to his hook. Harry loves his hook to the point of becoming obsessed with it. When Jay grabbed his hook and threatened to drop it in the ocean, Harry backed away and dropped his sword, as people do when they take hostages. When Jay dropped it in the ocean, Harry jumped in after it without a second thought. The hook may represent a memory or a deep connection with his father, Captain Hook.

He considers the Tournament "a game for little boys." Harry finds the idea of ​​summer school laughable, as even the schools on the island didn't have one; he laughs that this must be why Audrey snapped.

Harry is unquestioningly loyal to his best friend Uma, to whom he immediately returns once they are reunited in Descendants 3. After Uma, Harry is close with Gil, the muscle of their pirate crew; unlike the rest of their crew, the two stuck together during the two years Uma was absent from the Island, always waiting for an opportunity to escape to find their leader and continue their piracy. He also seems very protective of Uma, defending her from bullying and harassment, and standing by her side in battle.
