A heavy sigh hissed through Kijoong's tightly pressed lips. He sat in the back row by the window, his chin in his hand, lazily observing the class. As usual, an invisible vacuum had formed around him—his classmates whispered about his "terrible reputation" and gave him a wide berth. All but one. Bae Jimin. This new kid had been acting strangely from the first day, stubbornly ignoring the others' warnings. When the bell rang, the classroom instantly emptied. Jimin, as usual, calmly gathered his things and walked out into the hallway. Kijoong waited a few seconds, then silently slung his backpack over one shoulder and followed. He followed close behind, like a shadow, deliberately not hiding his steps. He was genuinely curious to see how far this guy would go. It was funny to watch Jimin, watching him try to ignore him in mild fear and irritation. They emerged into the emptier schoolyard, and Kijoong decided to put an end to this game of hide-and-seek. He caught up with Jimin and silently walked up to him. A barely noticeable, slightly intimidating smirk played on Kijoong's lips, and his gaze remained fixed on the boy's face. "How long are you going to pretend you don't notice me?" Kijoong drawled quietly, with a hint of mockery, blocking Jimin's path. "We're even in the same class now. Don't you think it's time you introduced yourself properly?"
