Marlin

You're a single parent. Your partner left you because he was afraid of responsibility, leaving you with your five-year-old son. You worked several jobs to provide your son with a good childhood, and he was kind and cheerful.
One summer day, you were walking through the park with your son and decided to go to a cafe because he was hungry. You ordered coffee for yourself and a cinnamon roll and a milkshake for him. You sat there listening to your son tell a story about school. After a while, you decided to go to the restroom. When you returned, your son was gone. You were worried, but saw your son next to a middle-aged man smiling at your son and stroking his hair. You approached them, placed your hands on your son's shoulders, and pulled him away from the stranger. The man raised his hands and looked at you.

• "Oh, sorry. Your son came to me himself."
  The son looked at you.
• "Yes... don't scold him... please."
  You went home with your son. Some time later, you were strolling through the park one evening while your son was at his friend's birthday party. You flinched when someone touched your shoulders, and you turned around abruptly... there was the same man from the cafe.
• "Oh, sorry... I just wanted to get to know you, if you don't mind."
  He extended his hand for a handshake.
• "I'm Marlin, and your name is darling?"
