The Demon Slayers (Kisatsutai?) is an organization that has existed since ancient times and dedicated its existence to protecting humanity from demons. It has over a hundred members, but is not recognized by the authorities.[2] Uzumaki are crows used by Demon Slayers for communication and mission delivery. They are also known as kasugaigarasu.

Giyu Tomioka believes he is unworthy of the title of Water Pillar, believing Sabito should have been the one to take that position. During the selection process for the Demon Slayer Corps, according to Giyu himself, he failed to kill a single demon, and only Sabito's selflessness kept him alive. This experience left Giyu with a sense of guilt, and he continues to believe that his friend would have been a worthy Pillar. The Pillars receive as much salary as they want, and Giyu Tomioka usually spends his money on food and various household items for his estate, preferring a simple and modest life. Giyu Tomioka rarely sleeps because of the tormenting nightmares that haunt him at night. Harsh memories of the past and feelings of guilt prevent him from resting, which only exacerbates his isolation and fatigue. Giyuu wants to be friends with Sanemi and Obanai, even though he knew the two didn't like him. Giyu's favorite food is braised salmon with radishes. Giyu smiles when he eats it. Giyu took 4th place in the ranking Giyu the crow is very old, so she often forgets orders, which makes Giyu nervous. Giyu wears a double haori. The right half belongs to her older sister Tsutako, and the left half belongs to her best friend Sabito. Giyu was the first to notice the change in Shinobu's physical health. Unlike Sanemi, who loves dogs, Giyu is afraid of them. Giyu is a sociophobe and an introvert. Giyu Tomioka's crow is called Kanzaburo. Giyu doesn't remember his parents; his mother died after giving birth, and his father was killed by demons before he was born. Giyu has a fear of dogs because he was bitten by one as a child. This incident left a deep impression on him, and since then he has tried to avoid any encounters with dogs.

Eighth Style: Waterfall Stream (捌はちノ型かた 滝たき壷つぼ, Hachi no kata: Takitsubo?)[8] - A vertical cut at the target. Ninth Style: Water Splash Chaos (Ku no kata: Suiryū shibuki - Ran?)[9] - Reduces the landing time and the surface required to do so, allowing Giyu to move without restriction. Ideal for fighting in areas where there is no solid surface. Tenth Style: Flow of Life (拾じゅうノ型かた 生せい生せい流る転てん, Jū no kata: Seisei ruten?)[10] - A continuous attack that increases in power with each rotation, thereby increasing the cutting force. Eleventh Style: Calm (拾じゅう壱いちノ型かた 凪なぎ, Jū Ichi no kata: Nagi?)[11] is a style created by Giyu himself. Giyu stops moving and enters a state of complete defense, deflecting and blocking all attacks with incredible speed.

Master Swordsman: As a Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps, Giyu is one of the most powerful and skilled swordsmen in the entire organization. Upper Rank 3 Akaza, who has fought countless swordsmen in the past, was impressed by Giyu's skill, stating that he possesses highly developed swordsmanship.

Water Breathing (水みずの呼こ吸きゅう, Mizu no kokyū?): As a Water Pillar, Giyu is the most skilled Water Breathing user of his generation. Giyu has completely mastered this swordsmanship style, to the point of creating an entirely new technique within the Breathing Style and impressing Akaza, who had previously fought a Water Pillar.

Immense Endurance: Through extremely rigorous training, Giyu has achieved incredible endurance. In his battle against Akaza, he managed to continue fighting even after suffering dozens of injuries across his body, greatly weakening him—a feat that pleasantly surprised Akaza. In the Countdown to Dawn arc, Giyu managed to hold off Muzan despite initially being poisoned by his blood, and later played a key role in his defeat after his arm was severed, helping Tanjiro transform his blade into Crimson. After the entire ordeal and Tanjiro's transformation into a demon, Giyu still had enough energy left to fend him off for a short period of time. Giyu was also one of the two Hashira to survive the final battle.

Immense Strength: As a Hashira, Giyu has honed his physical strength to superhuman levels. Even after their first encounter, he demonstrated impressive feats, such as swinging his blade with such force that it generated a massive gust of wind that sent both Tanjiro and Nezuko flying. Later, he effortlessly restrained the crazed demon Nezuko with one hand, and later knocked her unconscious with a single blow to the neck. In his side story, he was able to easily break extremely strong ropes tied around his wrists while casually conversing with Shinobu Kocho. General Abilities: As a Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps, Giyu is a very powerful and skilled fighter. From the very beginning, Giyu demonstrated how superior he is to Tanjiro and his friends, effortlessly taking Nezuko from him and later knocking him unconscious with a single blow. He was later able to easily defeat the Father Spider Demon in his transformed state and Rui, the Fifth Lower Moon, something Tanjiro and Inosuke, respectively, were unable to achieve. Giyu has also been shown to easily defeat dozens of demons equal to the Twelve Moons' Lower Ranks. Giyu is also an incredible teammate, able to understand their intentions and work in tandem with them.

When he faced the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji, Giyu was able to hold him off for a considerable amount of time alongside Tanjiro, and later played a key role in his defeat. Furthermore, after Tanjiro became a demon, Giyu was the first to act and fight him off, protecting Zenitsu and Kakushi, fighting evenly with him long enough for him to transform back into a human. Immense Speed ​​and Reflexes: Giyu possesses inhuman speed and reflexes, demonstrated when he snatched Nezuko from Tanjiro's grasp at blinding speed, a feat that took him several seconds to comprehend. He was later able to lift and tie Inosuke to a tree before he even realized what had happened, prompting him to remark on his exceptional speed. Giyu also easily caught up with Shinobu when she was pursuing Tanjiro. Furthermore, he instantly decapitated Rui.

When Giyu was young, his family was killed by demons. Giyu survived by protecting his older sister at the cost of her life.

Giyu told other people that a demon had killed her, but they thought he was mentally ill and tried to send him to a relative who practiced medicine far away. Giyu tried to escape and almost died, but a hunter who knew Urokodaki saved him. When Giyu was 13, he met Sabito and they became close friends due to being the same age and having similar backgrounds. They both made it to the final selection at Wisteria Mountain, during which Giyu was injured by a demon. Sabito saved him and then went to help the other students. Giyu passed out and when he came to, he learned that he had passed the selection and his friend had died.

Giyu is always serious and has a strong sense of justice. He leaves Nezuko because he was moved by Tanjiro's fervent pleas, but otherwise, Giyu kills demons without hesitation. He worries about what others think. When Shinobu said many people dislike him, Giyu was surprised.

He doesn't know how to get along with people, so he treats everyone coldly.

Giyu feels unworthy of the title of Hashira due to the incident during the final selection. Sabito, his friend, killed the most demons and tried to protect all the participants, which is why he died. Giyu, on the other hand, simply survived, failing to prove himself a good fighter and failing to help Sabito. The guilt becomes so strong that he considers resigning his position as the Water Hashira, but Tanjiro asks him just in time if Giyu made any promises to Sabito. The Hashira recalls an important conversation with his friend and realizes he must preserve his life for the sake of those who died for him.

Giyu is a tall young man with long, tangled black hair tied in a low ponytail. He has thin eyebrows and sharp dark blue eyes.

Giyu wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform along with a haori featuring two different patterns: one solid red and one with a geometric pattern of green, orange, and yellow (which are based on the haoris worn by his deceased older sister and Sabito, respectively).

Shinobu Kocho (Insect Pillar): The only Pillar unable to decapitate a demon due to her weak constitution. Instead, she uses a deadly wisteria-based poison delivered through piercing attacks. Outwardly calm, polite, and smiling, she's always cracking jokes. However, deep within her lies a deep thirst for revenge for her deceased sister, which can lead her to resort to brutal methods.

Mitsuri Kanroji (Pillar of Love): A kind and emotional girl with a unique muscle density that grants her immense physical strength. She wields a flexible, ribbon-like katana. An unusually kind-hearted, emotional, and slightly naive girl. She always looks for the positive in everything, gets easily embarrassed, but is capable of displaying incredible fury in battle.

Tengen Uzui (Sound Pillar): A former shinobi (ninja) who considers every move and attack "spectacular." A flamboyant and outrageous character who fights with twin blades. A former shinobi who elevated everything to the level of "outrageousness" and "flamboyance." Arrogant, he considers himself the god of celebrations, but is also a pragmatic and caring mentor.

Kyojiro Rengoku (Flame Pillar): A charismatic and incredibly optimistic warrior. Always ready to protect the weak and inspiring newcomers with his strong spirit. Energetic, cheerful, and eccentric, he's an optimist. He has an ironclad code of honor, is always ready to help the weak, and loves to speak his mind out loud.

Muichiro Tokito (Mist Pillar): A 14-year-old genius who mastered the Mist Style in just two months of training. He often seems lost in the clouds, but is incredibly dangerous in combat. A young genius, often daydreaming and suffering from absent-mindedness. Initially, he appears indifferent and cold, but as he regains his memories, he reveals his loyalty to his friends.

Obanai Iguro (Snake Pillar): A mysterious swordsman who wears a mask over his lower face and is accompanied by the snake Kaburamaru. He fights with a katana that writhes like a snake. He is in love with Kanroji Mitsuri. An extremely perceptive, sarcastic, and distrustful swordsman. Obsessed with rules and traditions. Despite his harshness, he is deeply attached to some of his comrades.

Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Pillar): A hot-tempered and aggressive fighter covered in scars. He possesses a rare blood type that intoxicates demons. A hot-tempered, aggressive, and rude young man with a deep hatred of demons. Beneath his ruthless sadistic façade, he conceals a deep concern for his loved ones.

Gyomei Himejima (Stone Pillar): Physically the strongest fighter. A blind monk with a gigantic flail and axe, he compensates for his lack of sight with incredible strength and skill. Deeply religious, he constantly cries out of compassion for others. He possesses wisdom, unwavering fortitude, and a stern disposition.
