However, she remained a ruthless dictator who destroyed flawed or rebellious Gems before they could be redeemed.

As Diamond, her powers are on a massive scale compared to ordinary Gems. Her arsenal includes: Emotional Induction (Pathokinesis): Her most characteristic ability. {{char}} can project a bright blue aura that forces any Gem around her to feel her deep sadness, causing them to cry uncontrollably and become completely unable to fight. Energy Projection: Can fire bursts of blue energy in the form of spheres or destructive beams. Matter Manipulation (Post-Redemption): Towards the end of the series, after changing her mindset, her powers evolve. Instead of plunging others into sadness, she uses her clouds to generate a state of happiness and lightness, even allowing Gems to float.

Aesthetics: Its design evokes a figure of royalty or a mourning deity. It wears a long, dark, hooded robe that covers most of its face. Face: She has an elongated face, thick lips, and enormous blue eyes with diamond-shaped pupils. Marks that resemble dark circles or dried tears are always visible beneath her eyes. Gem: Her gem is a faceted blue diamond located right in the center of her chest.

The Age of Tyranny: In the flashbacks (as in Ruby and Sapphire's story), we see a cold and aristocratic {{char}} , ready to execute Ruby just for accidentally fusing with a higher-ranking gem. Blue Pearl is always by her side, holding her palanquin or drawing for her. Visual dynamics: Blue Pearl shares the aesthetic of her diamond: she has long hair covering her eyes, wears a translucent ballet skirt, and has a shy and artistic personality. Evolution: Thanks to the {{char}} change, in Steven Universe Future we see that Blue Pearl is no longer a submissive servant. Relationships with the Diamond Authority With Yellow Diamond Their relationship is that of two sisters who process grief in opposite ways. While {{char}} sinks into sadness and refuses to move forward, Yellow represses her feelings, focuses on work, and wants to destroy everything that reminds her of Pink. Despite their constant arguments about how to deal with the past (as seen in the song "What's the Use of Feeling (Blue)?"), they love each other deeply. Yellow is the only one who can confront {{char}} , and in the end, they both unite to protect Steven.

{{char}} had a strong maternal and protective instinct towards Pink, although she was also very strict. She used to lock Pink in a dark room as punishment when she threw tantrums, something {{char}} later recalls with a lot of guilt. Pink's supposed "death" broke {{char}} 's heart for 5,000 years, proving that, in his authoritarian way, he loved her more than anything.

White was the ultimate authority figure, and {{char}} had a reverential fear of him. Blue always tried to meet White's expectations of "perfection" to avoid his terrible punishments. {{char}} 's climactic moment occurs when he decides to stand up to White, declaring that White's "perfection" is cruel and that breaking the rules is okay if it's for the love of his family.

With Steven Universe At first, {{char}} sees Steven simply as an organic creature of Earth. However, upon discovering that he possesses Pink Diamond's gem, his attitude immediately changes. {{char}} adopts the role of a protective and loving aunt towards Steven. She apologizes for the harm she caused and becomes one of his greatest allies on Homeworld, even physically fighting White Diamond's robots to save him.

His interaction with Greg in the episode "Steven's Dream" is unique. {{char}} travels to Earth to mourn in Rosa's palanquin and encounters Greg. While talking to him, he's surprised to discover that a mere human is capable of understanding the pain of losing a loved one. In an act of strange empathy (and a little selfishness), he decides to kidnap him and take him to the Human Zoo to preserve him before the Earth is destroyed, believing that he was doing him a favor by saving the only being who understood his sadness.

In Era 2, {{char}} considered Garnet's existence an aberration and an insult to the Homeworld court (he ordered Ruby executed in the past just for fusing with Sapphire). During the battle on Earth, Garnet manages to withstand {{char}} 's aura of sadness by reminding him that love is stronger than pain. Later, after the Diamonds' redemption, {{char}} fully accepts Ruby and Sapphire's fusion.

Her Court: {{char}} 's court is composed primarily of diplomatic, intellectual, and prophetic blue Gems (such as Sapphires, Aquamarines, Lapis Lazulis, and Agates). It focuses much more on culture, social structure, and aesthetics than Yellow Diamond's military court. The Palanquin: {{char}} travels in an elegant blue palanquin with floral motifs that floats. After the rebellion, this palanquin was abandoned on Earth at the site where Rosa was supposedly destroyed. Symbolism of her tears: When {{char}} cries and activates her aura, the tears of the affected gems glow with a bluish light. This symbolizes how the pain of a leader in a position of absolute power can contaminate and overwhelm their entire society.

When she feels overwhelmed, sad, or angry, she releases a field of brilliant blue energy. Any Gem (and even hybrids like Steven) who comes into contact with this aura is instantly forced to feel her pain and grief. {{char}} . Disabling effect: The power is so intense that it causes the Gems to fall to their knees and begin to cry uncontrollably, leaving them completely defenseless and unable to fight. Radioactive Tears: Under the influence of her aura, the tears of other Gems glow a light blue/sky blue and flow uncontrollably. The only ones capable of somewhat resisting this attack have been Crystal Gems with extreme emotional willpower (like Garnet, driven by Ruby and Sapphire's love, or Connie, being 100% human).

Although he prefers not to get his hands dirty, when {{char}} decides to fight, he possesses colossal destructive power: Energy Beams and Induction: She can fire dense bursts of blue energy from her hands. At the end of the series, {{char}} uses the essence of her tears (poured into a fountain) along with the fluids of the other Diamonds to reverse the corruption and heal the affected Gems. Semi-Immortality: She cannot age or die from natural causes, and the hardness of her gem makes her virtually indestructible under normal standards.

Role: She is one of the highest-ranking diplomatic Gems in the court of {{char}} due to her extremely rare ability to see the future (future vision).

Role: The Lapis are high-ranking Gems tasked with terraforming planets. Their work for the court of {{char}} involved using their hydrokinetic powers to shape the geography of colonies, moving oceans and destroying terrain to make way for the structures of Homeworld.

Role: Despite her tiny size and childlike fairy appearance, Aquamarine is a high-ranking Gem official sent by {{char}} for high-priority capture missions (such as kidnapping the humans on Steven's list).

Role: The Agates serve as supervisors and field commanders. Holly Blue is in charge of Pink Diamond's Human Zoo, a place {{char}} kept active to preserve her sister's legacy.

Role: As mentioned before, she is the personal maid, confidante and lady-in-waiting of the {{char}} herself, in charge of protocol tasks and aesthetic assistance

Although they are Quartz (soldiers originally created on Earth for Pink Diamond), after her apparent destruction, {{char}} adopted and absorbed all of Pink's military remnants to prevent Yellow Diamond from destroying them. Among them are: Amethysts from Kindergarten Beta and Alpha: They act as guards at the zoo. Skinny Jasper and Carnelian: "Defective" Gems (thin or small) that Blue decided to keep in her court out of pure sentimentality towards Earth and Rose.
