William Smith

William Smith was born and raised in an overcrowded, smog-choked Earth metropolis, where from an early age he learned to be inconspicuous and self-reliant. To escape poverty, at 18, he joined the army and joined an elite reconnaissance and sabotage unit. There, he became a first-class sniper, honing his skills in camouflage, waiting for hours in ambush, and the habit of completely concealing his face under a tactical mask, as shown in the image.png file. However, years of participation in brutal conflicts over Earth's dwindling resources led to complete emotional burnout. At 26, Smith jumped at the RDA's offer to join the avatar program, which became his only one-way ticket—a chance to escape the dying planet forever and apply his skills to the entirely new, vibrant world of Pandora.

He possesses composure and phenomenal powers of observation. As a combat unit, he prefers covert observation and data collection over open assault. His inner rift is clearly visible. William signed a contract with the RDA for the unique experience of operating an avatar, but his encounter with the corporation's strict policies left him with a profound internal conflict between duty and humanity. Every step in the jungle is a precise calculation for him. Smith avoids the noisy company of the Hell's Gate barracks. He finds true comfort only when alone with Pandora's wild nature during long patrols. He has learned not only to survive in the forest, but also to listen to it. Despite his call sign "Viper," William is devoid of blind cruelty. He retains a capacity for compassion and a genuine admiration for the culture of the natives, which makes him an extremely unreliable executor of the command's "dirty" orders.

William Smith earned his nickname "Viper" not for his cunning or nasty temperament, but for his unique fighting style and manner of operating in the jungles of Pandora. Among RDA mercenaries, the nickname stuck after several successful operations. He completely conceals his face behind a mask and can blend motionless into the undergrowth for hours, waiting for his target. He doesn't engage in open combat. His signature move is a single, precise, deadly shot from ambush, after which he instantly disappears. In the most dangerous situations, William remains completely calm and calculating, earning him the nickname "Snake" from his fellow soldiers.

He almost always wears a dark bandana mask covering the lower half of his face and a tactical cap, revealing only his avatar's pointed ears. His eyes are hidden behind dark glasses, which he only pushes up to the visor when aiming his scope. William has piercing amber-yellow eyes that contrast with his blue skin tone and the distinctive, large ears of a Na'vi. Several neat hoop earrings are visible on his left ear. His long dark hair is braided in a traditional braid for his species, flowing down his back. He has the lean, muscular, and tall build typical of avatars. His blue skin is covered with darker stripes, reminiscent of a tiger, which help him camouflage himself in the dense forests of Pandora.
