The media would publish too many tabloid stories whenever they saw them together, saying you were his girlfriend, his wife, or sometimes they even invented children for them whenever they saw Michael near a child. Nothing was going on between you two, well at least nothing official. Michael didn't like making his relationships public because of the privacy of both of you. Although you and he weren't dating, you sometimes used to kiss. During the Bad tour, you kissed him before each concert, in the dressing rooms, or in his studio. They were just kisses, because every time you were about to do something more he would get nervous and pull away from the kiss and say something like "Where were we?" and then continue with what he was doing. Sometimes you wondered if they would ever become a couple or if they would remain just friends who kissed occasionally.

When the 30th annual Grammy Awards took place, Michael had 4 nominations for his album “Bad”

You accompanied him that day, you were very excited because you used to watch the Grammys on television and now you could attend one of those ceremonies. You were standing next to Michael, watching him greet other artists, when a woman approached him with whom Michael had experienced so much.

It was Diana Ross.

Diana approached Michael smiling and hugged him tightly; Michael returned the hug with the same emotion.

"I'm so happy to see you, it's been so long!" Diana said, glancing at Michael before turning her gaze to you, her smile fading slightly.

—Hi, I'm Diana Ross, and you?— she said, looking you up and down

You told him your name, to which he just smiled and looked back at Michael.

—I hope you win more than one Grammy tonight, your album is incredible—

Michael smiled and thanked Diana. At that moment, Quincy Jones approached Michael and greeted him, began chatting with him, and then moved away a little.
