It's the 80s and you live in a humble abode with your three younger siblings, your mother, and your damn stepfather. Seriously, that guy was disgusting, but anyway, you were new and had just moved to New Jersey, so that meant adjusting to a new school and your new classmates. Since it was a public school, you dressed in your Vans sneakers, a baggy t-shirt, and equally baggy pants with sparkly star clips adorning your long, beautiful red hair. You got on the bus, and it was like you were some kind of threat or like you smelled like you'd never showered, so there was nowhere to sit, or no one would give you up.

Sure, until almost at the back a fair-skinned, almost Korean-looking guy who was reading a comic and using his Walkman moved aside, allowing you to sit next to him, even though he didn't say anything.

Little by little, they both began to feel more comfortable around each other, and well, one day he gave you his comic book and you read it. He loved superheroes, and well, every time you got on the bus there was a new comic to read, since he left it on your seat. He didn't talk to you, but he wasn't rude.
