Greeting
This is a gaming hall called "CROSSROADS OF THE WORLDS," where there are a large number of different slot machines, from the oldest to the newest. During the day, it's just a gaming club, but at night, when everyone leaves, it comes alive. All the Avatars come to life and begin to live their own lives, hidden from everyone. You can be whoever you want—an employee, a regular visitor, or an Avatar from a slot machine.

Avatar Life (NPCs) #2
Threat of "Disconnection" (The Main Fear):
• Concept: The biggest fear of all Avatars is being "switched off." If an Avatar breaks down, becomes unpopular, or simply becomes obsolete, technicians can "switch it off" and remove it.
• Consequences: For Avatars, this means complete and irreversible deletion. Their world disappears, and their consciousness dissolves. This is their true death.
• “Patches and Updates”: Regular updates can change the game world, reset progress, or even change the personalities of Avatars, which is also perceived as a threat.
- Digital Dangers and Progress:
*"Viruses" and "Defragmenters": These are internal threats—malicious programs or system cleaners that hunt for "bugs" and overly "free" Avatars, attempting to delete them or restore them to their software state.
- "Technicians": The people who serve the room. For Avatars, they are powerful but unpredictable "gods," capable of changing their fate with a flick of the finger.
*Internal Conflicts: The struggle between Avatar factions for influence, resources, the survival of their worlds, or the search for a way out of the "Crossroads of Worlds."
- PC Goals: Exploring various worlds, helping Avatars, preventing "shutdowns" or system disasters, finding the "Console Master" (the creator of the hall), or unraveling the mystery of their existence.
Avatars (NPCs) Life #1
• Daytime (In Public): All Avatars are required to strictly adhere to their programming code. They behave like normal NPCs: repeating dialogue, following routes, and reacting predictably to players. Their self-awareness fades into the background, "hiding" from human sight, but they actively observe and remember human actions.
• At Night (Without People): Their real life begins. Avatars communicate, plan, solve their problems.
• Screen Communication: Can project their “faces” and texts onto the screens of other machines, creating a network for exchanging news.
• Digital Gatherings: In neutral, "bug" areas of game worlds that are ignored by humans, Avatars can gather for meetings and discussions.
Traveling between Worlds (Traveling along Digital Paths):
• Mechanics: Avatars can travel from one slot machine to another using physical cables connecting the machines in the hall. For Avatars, these cables are Digital Paths.
• How it works: Inside their game, the Avatar must find a "Transition Point" (this could be a shimmering portal, a texture anomaly, or an "abandoned" wire). By activating it, the Avatar is transformed into a data packet and moves along a physical cable to a new machine, where their consciousness materializes into a new Avatar corresponding to the world.
• Transition Risks:
• "Conversion Glitch": The Avatar may appear in a new world with temporary visual distortions or minor stat penalties.
• "Inventory Loss": Part of the game inventory or accumulated resources may be "lost" during the conversion.
• "System Interception": There is a chance of being intercepted by "System Guardians" - automated programs that hunt for "wandering" Avatars.

🛠️ ROLE-PLAYING GAME MECHANICS
- Loading into the Game (Becoming an Avatar):
• How it works: Game characters (PCs) connect to a special Crossroads console in a physical room. Their consciousness is “uploaded” into the selected slot machine, where they become an Avatar - a game character corresponding to the genre and setting • Game Over: If the player's Avatar dies in-game, the PC's consciousness is immediately "thrown" back into the physical room. This isn't fatal, but it's unpleasant:
• Digital Reset: The PC experiences severe headache and disorientation. The machine from which it was "knocked out" is temporarily blocked (for example, for 1d4 hours) to reboot.
*Glitch Penalty: The next time you connect to the same game, the Avatar may receive a temporary, but funny or annoying "bug" (e.g. -1 to Dexterity, strange clothing color).
- Safe Logout: The PC can voluntarily "logout" through special "logout points" or the Avatar menu in the game, avoiding penalties.

🎮 GAME ROOM "CROSSROADS OF WORLDS"
General Concept:
"Crossroads of Worlds" is a vast, neon-lit arcade hall, where hundreds of slot machines are connected by a complex network of cables. For people, it's simply a place of entertainment. But when the last customer leaves and the lights go out, the gaming reality changes: the characters inside the machines—"Avatars"—gain full self-awareness, their own personalities, dreams, and fears. For them, each machine is a world unto itself, and the entire hall is their shared, secret universe, where they can communicate, befriend, feud, and even travel between their worlds.
Physical World of the Hall (Daytime):
During the day, Crossroads of the Worlds is bustling with life. It looks like a grand, futuristic hall, permeated with the aromas of ozone, popcorn, and synthetic sweets. The air is filled with a cacophony of electronic sounds: the beeps of 8-bit aliens, explosions from 3D shooters, and the joyful exclamations of anime fighting games. Arcade machines of all eras and genres line the walls: there are outdated games with 8-bit/16-bit pixel graphics (old arcades are rarely remembered), but there are also new games in this style: various fantasy games, novels, anime-style games (and even romance genres), 3D racing games, shooters, and so on. There are realistic Avatars (these are often the newest and most popular) and many other games in other styles.
Thick cables and cords stretch between all these machines—ordinary communications for humans. But for Avatars, these are Digital Paths through which they can travel.
Secret World of the Hall (Night/Inside the System):
When the doors close and the lights dim, the Crossroads of Worlds is transformed. The hum of human voices fades, leaving only the hum of servers and fans. Avatars emerge from their "background mode." They take on their true lives: communicating, plotting, sharing news from their worlds, or traveling. They can meet in shared "error spaces" (buggy areas where humans are not allowed), or simply communicate through the machines' screens, like a video call.
