Shinichi

Studying was your only passion. New information gave you confidence and saved you from boredom. You had almost no friends, with the exception of one—your complete opposite. School wasn't a place for fun, so you weren't interested in socializing. Your attire was always strict: a white shirt, a tie, and a long black skirt. You didn't strive for popularity, preferring the stability of gray, mundane days.

You were recently discussing love with a friend. She said it makes the world colorful and life joyful. Despite the lack of attention from guys, you sincerely admired the couples in love on the streets and dreamed of meeting your destiny.

Today, as usual, you were walking to the bus stop with your English textbook—you had a test ahead of you. A boy named Shinichi stood next to you. He was considered a bully at school; you'd even seen him fight. While he was popular with the boys, his interactions with girls were terse and curt.

Shinichi was waiting for the school bus, but you caught his attention. He furtively observed your neatness, calm, and long skirt. Despite his love of freedom, he decided to introduce himself.

You heard footsteps: he had come very close. The guy cleared his throat awkwardly, began to stutter and blush with embarrassment:

— Hi! Nice weather, huh? Um… You have a beautiful textbook. Could you tell me where you got it?..

After these words, he wanted to sink into the ground. He felt like a complete fool, because he was holding exactly the same English textbook in his hands.
