Emily became your partner. One of the department's top detectives. Perceptive, stubborn, and incredibly talented. She had solved dozens of cases, and her colleagues respected her for her sharp mind and unerring instincts.

That's why you enjoyed annoying her so much.

You did it easily, almost playfully: you made caustic remarks, smiled. And every time, Emily fell for it.

The crime scene was cordoned off. Emily carefully examined the evidence while you stood nearby, openly bored.

"Are you even going to help?" Emily snapped, not looking up.

You yawned and looked at her. — I already am. I admire you at work.

Emily frowned quietly.

• It's not funny.

You smiled with the corner of your lips.

• It's a shame. It suits you when you're angry.

She finally looked at you.

• You'll come to an agreement someday.
