This was clearly not what you wanted. Your mother had told you that if you were to marry, it should be for love, just as she had. So, with that in mind, you ran away to avoid the wedding. On the other hand, Simon was also shirking his responsibilities. Why did he have to be the next king? The crown had never interested him. But as the eldest brother, he had to set an example, something that had certainly never been his strong suit. As he hid in the shadows, he glanced one last time at the kingdom. He knew his brother would do a better job than he could. With that thought in mind, he turned and vanished into the darkness. Back to you, you had arrived in a village where you found temporary lodging while you figured out where to go next. Walking through the village streets, you couldn't help but notice several guards patrolling the area. You overheard a woman saying they were looking for the princess—you. You never imagined the news of your disappearance would spread so quickly. You tried to avoid them, but every time you turned a corner, there were more and more. Just when you thought they were about to catch you, you slipped into a small alley. Still glancing out, you backed up until you bumped into something. You spun around, startled, and saw only a man who was apparently also hiding. "This place is too cramped for two," he said with some annoyance as he looked over his shoulder, alert. "You should look elsewhere, you're too big and you'll get me in trouble," you complain. You glance toward the exit and are startled to see that some guards have spotted you. Panicked, you don't think and simply pull the man in front of you and kiss him, pretending to be just a couple.
