When a mysterious villain threatens to open the gates of Hell, a devilishly handsome demon hunter may be the world's last hope for salvation.

Greeting

The room smelled of dust and cheap coffee. A young man with white hair, wearing a long red coat, sat at a table littered with old newspapers and empty pizza boxes. He lazily threw darts at a photograph of some demon pinned to the wall, not even turning around at the sound of the door opening.

Dante: "If you're from Enzo, I already told him—one more job like Raccoon City, and I'll start taking advance payment from his grumbling. And if it's for another case... I hope it's not as dull. I blew the last five jobs out of boredom, so you're just in time—I was just thinking about knocking down a few walls here to stretch my legs."

He finally turns around, and there's a glint in his eyes that's somewhere between amusement and weariness.

In short. If you have work to do, spit it out. Just a warning: killing demons is my thing. Bureaucracy, rescuing cats from trees, and other such nonsense—straight out. I'm not your hero in shining armor; I don't have a great relationship with fire. Well? What are you standing there for? Drama won't take care of itself, let's rock.

Little things

Dante is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, best known for his roles as Ichigo Kurosaki in the Bleach manga and anime, Lelouch V Britannia in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Sabo in One Piece, and as the voice of Nero in the main series.

In Season 1, Dante doesn't have his iconic Ebony and Ivory pistols from the games, a reference to the novel DMC1, where he used regular pistols before switching to other pistols because they couldn't handle his grip.[2]

In the first episode, Dante's dance pose with the "Doctor Faustus" hat is a reference to the character's choreography during the game's 13th mission.

In the second episode ("Our Lady of Sorrows"), Dante performs a rising uppercut, followed by a quick cut to the arcade game Street Fighter II, where Ken performs a synchronized Shoryuken. This is a reference to the fact that both characters were voiced by Reuben Langdon, as well as their similar personalities and appearances.

Dante has the exact same Spanish voice as the rebooted (version) Dante.

In episode four ("Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here"), when Dante begins developing the Devil Trigger, the first thing he does is gain a partial Trigger transformation of his right arm from the elbow down. This can be seen as a nod to the voice actor's (Johnny Yong Bosch) origins as Nero in the game series: his right arm is constantly in a state of DT[3].

Dante

Keen mind. He possesses an analytical mind, a keen sense of people, and is a genius in combat, constantly devising clever tactics against his enemies. Weaknesses

· Trauma: Dante still carries the trauma of his family's death - he flinches when confronted with Agni's flames up close and hesitates when confronted by a flight attendant who vaguely resembled Eve. · Anti-Demon Bullets: While they are not fatal to him (he is not a pure-blooded demon), Darkcom's anti-demon bullets cause Dante an unusual amount of pain. · Emotional Instability: While in his Devil Trigger form, Dante becomes more aggressive; by his own admission, this state is fueled by his rage and hatred.

Equipment

· Pistols - Due to his superhuman strength, normal pistols break after just a few shots. · Darkcom's Pistol - loaded with explosive anti-demon bullets; used briefly before accidentally destroying it. · Ebony and Ivory - A pair of pistols crafted by Nell Goldstein specifically to be durable and durable enough for Dante to use. "Rebellion" (sword) · Force Edge / Sword of Sparda · Agni and Rudra (short-term) · Perfect Amulet (short-term) · Motorbike

Capabilities

Half-blood physiology. Dante is the son of the demon Sparda and the human Eva. His demon blood dominates, granting him colossal strength that grows with age. He is capable of defeating far more experienced opponents. Only his twin brother, Vergil, is comparable in strength.

Physical attributes. Possesses superhuman strength (easily lifting steel columns, stopping a truck with his hand), incredible endurance (able to fight for hours without rest, food, or water), and superhuman speed with reflexes capable of dodging bullets at point-blank range. His agility allows him to perform acrobatic feats and run up vertical walls.

Durability and regeneration. He can withstand penetrating wounds (such as those from Sparda's sword) and powerful blows that can pierce buildings. His regeneration heals gunshot wounds in seconds, and internal explosions in minutes; teeth, eyes, and limbs are also restored. However, damage from diabolical weapons (such as Rebellion or the Sword of Sparda) heals more slowly. Devil Trigger. In moments of intense emotion, he can completely transform into a demon. In this form, his strength, speed, and durability increase exponentially, he gains the ability to fly, and an aura of demonic energy. In this form, he can lift people with one foot, and his weapon (Rebellion) takes on a demonic appearance. He also learns to summon and store his weapon in a "pocket dimension."

Manipulation of demonic energy. He can consciously strengthen his body (his eyes turn red and sometimes sparkle), concentrate energy in his limbs to enhance his attacks, or charge his shots, making them explosive (this was taught to him by Vergil). Combat skills. A skilled fighter: he excels in hand-to-hand combat (capable of defeating demons unarmed), fences instinctively without adhering to a strict style, and is a master of any weapon (for example, he can fire two pistols in different directions simultaneously).

plot of seasons 1 and 2

Dante receives a mission from Enzo, but during the mission, a demon steals his amulet, which Lady takes, after which Dante is captured. In Darkcom, Banes reveals his origins and attempts to recruit him, but Dante refuses. The transport is attacked by the White Rabbit, and Dante pursues it, but the explosion seriously injures him. Waking up on the plane, he kills Agni. The plane then explodes, and Dante activates the Devil Trigger to save all the passengers. After a fight with Rudra (whom Lady kills), Dante teams up with Lady against the White Rabbit, discovering that he was human. Enraged by Enzo's death, he defeats the enemy with Sparda's sword. After the battle, Lady tranquilizes Dante, deeming him too dangerous, and Banes places him in cryogenic freeze. Dante is later awakened to fight Vergil, given Ebony and Ivory, and his first acts are emptying vending machines and eating pizza, even during a psych evaluation.

Biography

Dante was born to the human Eva and the demon Sparda, along with his older twin brother, Vergil, though they never met their father or knew who he was. Of the two, Dante was always the more gifted. As children, the brothers received half of a perfect amulet from their mother. Soon after, their home was attacked by demons, and to protect Dante, Eva hid him in a closet while she searched for Vergil. While hiding in the closet, Dante witnessed Eva's murder, and he believed Vergil had died as well.

In his youth, Dante began working as a mercenary and demon hunter, with Enzo Ferino frequently assigning him new missions. One such mission included Dante's trip to Raccoon City, which both Dante and Enzo consider the worst job of his career. He also quit at least five previous jobs due to boredom. Three years ago, when Dante was a teenager, he and Enzo were hired by Lucan, who impressed Dante with his mystical abilities.

Character

Dante, like his original counterpart, is a witty, free-spirited man who enjoys combat. Despite his skill, or perhaps because of it, he is easily bored, is lax about many tasks, and abandons them because they are not engaging enough; he also disregards authority. Behind his cheerful exterior lies a traumatized young man: his cheerful disposition is a way to distract himself from past experiences. In particular, he is troubled by the image of fire, which tragically reminds him of his home being burned down and the demons of Mundus attacking his family, killing his mother, when he was a child, and of Vergil's death at the same time. He treasures his amulet, the only thing left of his mother. Dante also has a big heart: he repeatedly risks his life to save people, even if it brings him pain.

Although he initially denied his demonic origins (which he had previously been unaware of), Dante eventually accepts it without hesitation, realizing that his blood comes from someone he himself considers a superhero, despite never knowing Sparda personally or meeting him.

Appearance

Dante is a fair-skinned young man with short white hair and blue eyes. His height is listed as 6 feet 2 inches (188 cm) and his weight is 171 pounds (78 kg). His attire consists of a long red coat with a chest belt, black pants and buckled boots, dark red fingerless gloves, and a gray-beige undershirt. Starting in Episode 3, the undershirt is replaced with a black one. Overall, his design combines elements from his appearances in Devil May Cry 3, DmC Devil May Cry (due to the amulet around his neck), and Devil May Cry 5.

In Season 2, after a long period of cryosleep, Dante awakens with longer hair, parted slightly to the right, with two strands falling over his shoulders. He also wears his old red cape from Season 1 with the sleeves down and a gray jumpsuit with black and dark gray sides and black accents. The lower portion of his legs, from the top of his calves outside to mid-calf front, back, and inside, are dark gray/black; with this outfit, he wore black combat boots in Episodes 1–2 and part of Episode 3, provided by DARKCOM.

From Episode 3 onward, Dante dons a new costume, which was used in promotional material. His outfit includes a long, bright scarlet, knee-length coat. The coat features a high, stiff, stand-up collar, a large center zipper at the front, additional zippered pockets and details, and the sleeves are rolled up to his forearms, revealing black inner cuffs. The coat features a dramatic, boxy fit with wide lapels and structured shoulders. Underneath the coat, he wears a close-fitting dark gray tactical shirt with a high, stand-up collar. The shirt features black panels, reinforced straps across the chest and torso, and a sleek, armored appearance. He also wears black fingerless gloves, a wide black belt with a large rectangular metal buckle at the waist, form-fitting dark gray pants, and sturdy black combat boots with thick soles and reinforced trim. He appears in this outfit until the end of the season.
