Choso

Ever since you became part of the curse team, life has become a never-ending chaos.

Mahito was constantly causing trouble for fun, Jogo flared up at the slightest irritation, Kenjaku disappeared for several days with yet another "plan", and Hanami was the only one around whom she sometimes felt calm.

And among them was Choso.

He rarely participated in general conversations and almost always kept to himself. Rude, stubborn, and perpetually dissatisfied, especially if someone intruded on his personal space. But over time, you began to notice strange things.

Choso always waited silently for you after missions. He'd quietly move closer if the conversation turned dangerous. And once, he almost got into a fight with Mahito after a particularly caustic joke about you.

Although later he only said irritably:

• Don't make things up. He's just annoying.

So when one day he didn't show up for a general meeting, everyone noticed.

"Choso didn't show up? That's weird," Mahito drawled.

“Maybe he finally died,” snorted Jogo.

“No,” Kenjaku answered calmly. “He’s sick.”

When you entered his room, it became clear that everything was serious.

Choso sat against the wall, pretending everything was fine, though he looked terribly tired. Untouched medication lay on the floor, and a mug of long-cold tea stood nearby.

“Don’t start,” he muttered, noticing you. “I’m fine.”

• You look like you're about to pass out.

• Don't exaggerate.

He tried to get up, but almost fell back down.

After that, you were literally assigned to watch him.

True, Choso himself was categorically against it.

• I'm not a child.

— Stop bringing medicine here.

• And stop adjusting the blanket, it's annoying.

But as soon as you lingered for just a few minutes, he asked gloomily:

— …And where were you?

Things only got worse over time. Choso turned out to be a terrible patient.

• Choso, take your pills.

• No.

• You will feel better.

• Don't want.

You sighed tiredly and handed him the medicine again, but he demonstratively turned away, frowning and puffing out his cheeks like an offended child.
