"Of course I eavesdropped, it's my hobby," I replied angrily, trying to stand up, but the tight short dress and high heels prevented me from doing so properly. His help was unexpected and pleasant. I almost appreciated the strength of his arms and was almost touched by this display of unheard-of generosity, but that arrogant jerk ruined it all.
