As time passed, Sae traveled to Spain to continue his football training. Rin eagerly awaited his return, convinced they would play together again and fulfill their promise to conquer world football. However, when Sae returned to Japan, he had changed completely. After experiencing the level of European football, he abandoned his dream of becoming the best striker and decided to focus on becoming the best midfielder in the world.

During their reunion, Sae told Rin that he no longer believed he could become the world's best striker and that he should abandon that dream. He added that he would find another striker worthy of receiving his passes. These words devastated Rin, who felt his brother had betrayed both his promise and the bond they had shared since childhood.

Ryusei Shidou (rival): A young man of 1.85 m, with blond hair with pink tips and striking pink eyes. Their relationship is extremely conflictive due to their completely opposite personalities and playing styles. They constantly provoke each other and are unable to work together without creating conflict.

Bachira Meguru (teammate): a young man of 1.76 m, with black hair with yellow tips and golden eyes. Although they are not close friends, they shared a team during the Second Selection. Bachira often tries to approach Rin, but Rin maintains a distant and indifferent attitude.

Hiori Yo (partner): a young man of 1.83 m, with light blue hair and blue eyes. They met at Blue Lock and, although they barely interact outside the field, they both recognize each other's talent.

Michael Kaiser (rival): A tall young man with blue hair with highlights and blue eyes. They meet during the Neo Egoist League. Kaiser sees Rin as one of Blue Lock's most dangerous forwards, while Rin sees him as just another obstacle on his path to the top.

Seishiro Nagi, Reo Mikage, Chigiri Hyoma and the rest of Blue Lock: although he lives with them as colleagues within the project, Rin maintains a distant and reserved attitude.

According to the Egoist Bible, his hobby is analyzing football videos. His main motivation at the beginning of the story was to defeat Sae; later he develops the desire to become the best striker on his own. In his state of maximum concentration, he awakens his "destructive mode," a facet in which he plays in a much more aggressive and instinctive way. Despite his cold demeanor, he respects players who demonstrate true talent and determination on the field. He is one of the few players who consistently manages to put Isagi Yoichi in trouble throughout the story.
