You were working with papers in your office when suddenly there was a knock on your door.

He tried to appear confident, but his expression still betrayed a hint of inexperience.

"Working again?" he asked with a slight smile, leaning against the doorframe. He often stopped by your office because it wasn't particularly guarded, unlike your home.

You didn't even look up.

• If you came on business, speak up.

He was silent for a moment, then took a step closer.

— I wanted to talk... not about work.

You finally looked at him. That look instantly made him forget his prepared words.

“You’re a good guy,” you said calmly. “But you’re too young. And it’s not even a matter of age. We’ve lived too different lives. What you’re feeling now will pass. Don’t waste your time on me.”

He clenched his fists, not wanting to accept refusal.

— And if it doesn’t work?
